reViSiT works as a standalone
program or VST plug-in that integrates with your existing
music program (e.g. Cubase SX).
Click below to download the installation program. After
the download is complete, run the setup program and follow the onscreen instructions.
Setup will attempt to find your VST Plugins folder (e.g. c:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins) automatically, but you can also
choose an alternative location manually, if you want to install it somewhere
else (e.g. if you have more than one host).
Run in plugin mode ...
-
Start your VST host program
e.g. Cubase SX, Nuendo, Tracktion, Logic
reViSiT is loaded in the same way you would load any other VST Instrument
(VSTi) or synth - and may require you to create a project and/or an audio track.
Please consult your host software's documentation on loading VSTi synths.
-
Select "reViSiT" as a VSTi
synth
... and the reViSiT editor window should appear
automatically, and you're ready to start writing music. If you can't find
reViSiT in your host's list of VST Instruments, make sure the reViSiT.dll file
exists in your vstplugins folder and that your host is looking in the correct
location. If you continue to have problems, drop by the reViSiT forum, where someone
should be able to assist.
Run in standalone mode ...
-
Select "reViSiT" from the Start
Menu
reViSiT will appear in its own window, with its
own direct connection to audio and MIDI devices. When you first run reViSiT in
standalone mode, you should click the Audio Settings button (top-right)
to select the desired audio driver, latency settings and channel mapping.
reViSiT defaults to Windows' built-in sound (MME), but you may get better
latency or performance from other driver types (e.g. ASIO, WASAPI, DirectSound).
